Wedgwood Slip Glaze Pictorial Tile, Late 19th Century. Beautifully framed in an Arts & Crafts fumed oak frame with gilt liner. Deep relief depicting a bucking ram being ridden by a pudie trumpeting a horn while holding a hammer in his other hand. What symbolism is this? Great image! Tile measures 5 3/4” by 7 3/4” while the overall frame measures 11” by 13”. The condition is excellent though there is some very minor overall crazing and a few minor glaze bumps located at lower field area and in the making of as if debris settled on tile during glazing or firing. Tile possesses a single incised mark: WEDGWOOD.
