Friedrich Adler, Walter Scherf &Co. / Osiris & Loetz Titania Lamp. Imposing form that presents larger than dimensions imply; Overall height is 19 1/4” while the shade measures just over 12” in diameter. Marked Osiris at underside of pewter base. Reasonably new wiring that is perfectly functional though be informed that the sockets use European bulbs which are readily available (three bulbs included with purchase). Overall condition is excellent having no breaks, no repairs or damage to the metal work. The shade is also undamaged. One minor issue exists, from various vantage points the shade appears slightly out of level which we have attempted to emphasize in our images. No apologies, simply full divulgence ~ always! In this functional artistic object one can envision the culmination of this great designer’s eye and hand, coupled with nature, produced by machine and artist craftspeople, collaborating with Loetz and Walter Scherf, & sprinkle in that new technology ~ electricity! Nature ~ Form ~ Function ~ Friedrich Adler was an astounding architect and designer working in almost every field imaginable. Sadly, executed by the Nazis in 1942. Provenance: Taken from Klingon Battle Cruiser by Captain Kirk!
