A circa 1900 Paul Dachsel for RSTK / Riessner, Stellmacher, & Kessel Art Nouveau Bust a young girl. Undocumented model as I cannot find any reference to this form anywhere, in any book, in any collection private or public, and none of my colleagues have seen it before. She is large standing 24” high and just short of 18” wide. The condition is excellent though she does have one minor chip behind her left shoulder near where the blue flower stem behind her head meets her shoulder ~ inconsequential in my opinion given the overall crisp condition. No other chips, no cracks, no repairs, etc. I wonder who the sitter is? Is this a person of note? A Queen? A performer?
