Karl Ens German Porcelain Plaque depicting Medusa; Thuringia, Germany. We attribute this design to Berthold Boess as it is strikingly comparable to the facial features scene in all of his porcelain figurines, perhaps the same sitter. The oak frame measures just short of 10” by 12” while the tile measures approximately 6” by 8”. We were fortunate to have discovered marks to back of tile and carefully exposed them to view and photograph. The condition is excellent and undamaged to both the tile and the frame.
